Well after yesterdays post about weather and outdoor weddings, I can not believe the amount of strong winds we have had here in the North East overnight and today, any veil would have been wrapped around the bride, mind she would have been warm! confirms my wedding blog yesterday about considering the weather if choosing to wear a veil, but the blustery weather would have made some spectacular wedding photographs.

I love doing outdoor weddings, the beauty of using a celebrant is that you can have your outdoor wedding anywhere : a field wedding; a farm wedding; a beach wedding; a garden wedding; a roof wedding. Just think about it. A personalised unique ceremony exactly as you want it. Think about the weather and have a back up plan; use dried flower petals for confetti so that they flutter to the ground giving time for that fabulous confetti wedding photograph; consider using bubbles instead of confetti - the children love this; think about the wind - do you really need a veil??? let your guests know it's is outside so they need to think about their shoes and hats; sound projection/ music check equipment is available so all your guests can hear the ceremony. The possibilities are endless.
When I am planning a ceremony I am not constrained by my own beliefs or values, your wedding ceremony or your family members funeral ceremony is entirely lead by your own beliefs and values, if you want cultural elements - have them, if you want religious / faith elements - have them, if you want a combination of belief systems - have them combined. It is so exciting to value and celebrate our differences and incorporate them into any celebration in our lives and that is what I strive to do in every ceremony I craft for couples and families. I always remember the ceremonies I write are not for me or about me they are always about YOU. It is your celebration let's do it the wat you want.
